Hoppin’ into Easter
In the past 15 years, St. Dominic’s Outreach Club has been making Easter baskets for the children at Crisis Nursery, where parents in crisis can drop off their children for babysitting. Members of the Outreach Club assembled 30 baskets worth about $10 each and filled them with toys and snacks for the kids to enjoy while they are at the nursery. Three types of baskets were made with diapers, baby food, and plastic rings for the toddlers. As head of the Outreach Club, Mrs. Johnson oversaw the production of the baskets. This was a great way to give back to the community in the Easter season.
“I love the idea of helping the Crisis Nursery and offering something the children can call their own. I think it helps the parents feel better to be able to give a gift to their children,” said Mrs. Johnson. “The Crisis Nursery is a great organization that helps not only children, but whole families who are in crisis. They are very appreciative of our donations.”
