High Demand for The Mandolorian

The Mandalorian is back with with his familiar armor and his little sidekick.

A major selling point for the popular streaming service Disney+ is its ownership of the Star Warsfranchise. Now, season two of The Mandalorian has both old and new heads turning towards the beloved platform (no spoilers ahead).

Many die-hard fans would agree that the first season of The Mandalorian was a great show. For most people, it was a great addition to all of the previous Star Wars stories, and it introduced new, exciting and lovable characters. With each episode packed full of action and interesting plots, it was hard for viewers to not be on the edge of their seats.

Ever since last November when the first season was released, it has seemed like there has been unrelenting chit-chat about the great success of the show. Many of our own Crusaders have even given the show a try, and thoroughly enjoyed it.

“I found the first season of The Mandalorian so wonderful because it brought back the nostalgia and feeling of watching the original trilogy,” senior Caleb Stoddard said.

Clearly this just goes to show how well the creators of the show did at bringing in fans of the “old Star Wars material,” if you will. Many people disregard the new Star Wars installments, but this is a whole different story.

Nowadays it seems like every streaming service has one or two signature shows that people subscribe to, just for a chance to watch. I think it’s safe to say that The Mandalorian is definitely one of, if not the most popular, of all the shows and movies on Disney+. Having said this, the release of season two just this past week has given fans something good out of this crazy year of 2020.

“I was very excited for the new season to come out, because I feel that the show had only just begun, and I’m hoping season two will bring some fun new adventures,” Stoddard said.

Of course, Stoddard wasn’t wrong about the adventure. The very first episode of the new season kicked it off with a bang. In this particular episode, the main character, Mando, visits some familiar places, but is forced to interact with more than his fair share of newcomers. For me personally, I found it impossible to get bored of the constant action, and I was particularly impressed by all of the little Easter eggs also included in the episode—ones which only true Star Wars fans would pick up on.

Surely after this all the hype will come back around Star Wars, so if you want to watch it for yourself, The Mandalorian is now streaming on Disney+ for only $6.99 a month.
