Golf Girls Going to State
This year’s varsity girls golf team is on fire! They’ve been defeating opponents left and right, and even had a large amount of players qualify for state. The girls started out the year winning second in the AAA conference, and have only been defeated twice throughout their whole season.
Four of our golf girls qualified for the state championship. Seniors Emily Baird, Kennedy Mueller and Maddie Kennedy all qualified, along with sophomore Jenna Rankey.
Rankey has impressed everyone by coming onto varsity as a freshman, and then making it to state her second year here. She has continued to push herself and her team to be better and stronger.
“I feel very proud to qualify for state. I’m preparing for state by going to the driving range, playing many rounds of golf and practicing my swing,” Rankey said.
Mueller achieved a lifelong dream by qualifying for state, and she’s very excited to make it finally come true. Her main goal for all four years has been to get to the championship, and now is her time to shine.
“I was definitely surprised to qualify for state, but qualifying was my goal all season. I am extremely excited to qualify, not only because I’ve never made it this far, but it’s even cooler because it is my senior year. Going to state is definitely the icing on the cake for my senior season,” Mueller said.
The golf girls are doing amazing this year, and are going to continue to do so! Let’s be sure to cheer on and congratulate our girls as they get closer and closer to state.
