The fall season always brings a sense of creativity, and as we enter the season we’re all beginning to think of what fun activities we can do to liven up our homes. There’s so many fun DIY’s we can make for this season, and here are just a few examples.

Spooky Basket

A spooky basket is perfect for when October rolls around! It always gets you in the spirit for the haunted holiday. This is also super simple to make; all you do is get either a festively decorated basket or bucket, and fill it with fun treats or little gifts. It’s a perfect miniature gift for Halloween time!

Autumn Leaf Art

This season is all about the changing leaves, and this is a unique project that not many people do! All you need to do is go outside, find a leaf, get a canvas to put it on and frame it. You can also add your own little twist to it by painting the canvas, and you could always laminate the leaf so it lasts forever.

Pumpkin Painting

Another super easy DIY is painting pumpkins. All you need to do is simply go to a pumpkin patch to pick up some pumpkins, and let your creativity flow! Obviously, you can paint whatever you want onto the pumpkins—most of the time it’s something Halloween based, but you can always paint whatever comes to mind.

“Pumpkin painting has always been my favorite DIY project to do in the fall. It’s just so easy, and is always a fall favorite to everyone around. This has always been the perfect DIY to do with my friends,” senior Grace Catlett said.

Paper Pumpkins

Paper pumpkins are a quick and easy task you can complete to add to the festive spirit. All you need is orange paper, scissors and some yarn. It’s basically origami, but you’re making a pumpkin! It is, yet again, another perfect decoration to put up around the house.

Mason Jar Vases

A mason jar vase is such an easy DIY to do, but it may take a bit more effort than the previous choices. All you do is grab a mason jar, either from the store or from home, and basically paint it any way you’d prefer. Then, you can put any flowers or halloween decoration inside to help it liven up the room.

“My favorite DIY to always do around the fall time is making mason jar vases! It’s always so fun and easy. All you do is paint a mason jar and fill it with colorful flowers. It’s a perfect gift for someone, and a great decoration!” senior Elli Hagan said.

Pumpkin Carving

Last, but certainly not least, is an all time fall favorite. You can never go wrong with pumpkin carving! After carving out your design (safely!), you can put a little candle in it to light up the picture you carved. You can even use a stencil if you don’t have the best artistic ability, so it’s an easy job for everyone!

“Pumpkin carving is always my favorite thing to do, especially around Halloween time! It just always gets me in the spirit,” senior Emma Bruegenhemke said.

You can never go wrong with a fun fall DIY, and there’s so many more than just these few. If you put your mind to it, you can create whatever you’d like to get a little more festive!
