Tennis Is Tearing It Up!
Our girls tennis team is tearing it up on the court this season! Last weekend, the girls won the AAA Conference tournament for the 4th year in a row, and they hold a 9-0 record as well.
This season has been pretty different for the girls, seeing as they have some oddball games due to COVID-19 switching up their schedule. However, they haven’t let that stop them and continue to play without fear.
“We have played some challenging teams in and out of tournaments, but our season is going really well so far,” senior Emily Bross said.
The girls have been working hard and having fun at practice, while also keeping each other’s attitudes up with a family aspect throughout the season. They spend 2 hours practicing every day, with new drills and scrimmages to get ready for the new teams on their schedule.
“I think the season is 100% full of more wins. Everyone is working hard, and it’s been paying off,” senior Leah Maxvill said.
This past week was the girls’ senior night, and it was emotional for some of them knowing this is their last season as a crusader on the court. Many of the girls have been playing since freshman year, and are sad to see St. Dominic go!
“It’s sad knowing my last match is so soon, with some of the best friends I have made through the sport,” Maxvill said.
With the season coming to an end, we wish the girls luck in their final matches and we hope that they continue to keep up their winning streak. Send our lady crusaders some love and encouragement this week because they really are killing the game!
