Battlehawks Battle!
This year marked the first year of the XFL, and with interceptions, touchdowns and big hits, this season has been anything but boring. Football even returned to Saint Louis, with the Battlehawks having high hopes of winning it all this year.
The Battlehawks have started their inaugural season at 2-1 and have played some tough opponents. Their first match-up was against the Dallas Renegades, where the Battlehawks took home a sloppy 15-9 victory. While there were many aspects to improve on, getting a win on the board was a good sight to see. They then turned to their next opponent in the Houston Roughnecks, where they lost 28-24. However, it was still a good game, as they turned the second half into a comeback effort, scoring 18 points. Jordan Ta’amu led the charge for the team, as he pushed back to back drives down the field to put points on the board.
Week Three was a match-up against the New York Guardians, where they dominated in a 29-9 victory. They seemed to click on all cylinders as they even brought back the first kickoff touchdown of the season for the XFL. The offense showed their dominance throughout the game, and the defense seemed to dominate the opponent’s possessions. Overall, this game was the breakout game for the Battlehawks in their push to the playoffs, and they are in good shape as they lead their division after the first few weeks of the season.
The Battlehawks turn around to play some good opponents, like the DC Defenders and the LA Wildcats, but they will also have some easier weeks, like two games against the Tampa Bay Vipers. It will be an exciting season for fans as well as a promising one, as the XFL looks to make their mark on American Football this year
