All-Star weekend is here in the NBA! With new rules and returning players, here’s a look at all the fun games and events happening this weekend.

Friday February 14

On Valentine’s Day, the NBA will be full of laughter and fun as two major events take place. To begin, the All-Star Celebrity Game will take place at 7 p.m. This game will feature two teams of 11 players on each team who compete in a basketball game on ESPN. This game has always been a fun way to get to know some celebrities while also allowing them to display their talents on the basketball court. Ronnie2K and Quavo both headline the game, as they both have played in other games. Quavo has shown his skills before in previous matchups and seems to be a front runner for MVP, while Ronnie2K has some things to prove from a horrid performance last year.

After that is the NBA Rising Stars game. With the first official NBA event taking place at 9 p.m., this game will be full of stars in their first and second seasons in the NBA. There has been some controversy surrounding rookie Zion Williamson, as he has been injured for most of the year but is still listed on the roster, but in all, the event is sure to bring an awesome competitive two classes of basketball together for a great game.

Saturday February 15

Saturday is full of exciting events, as these events are kicked off by the Taco Bell Skills Challenge. It starts with an obstacle course that is a mixture of passing, shooting and dribbling through tough obstacles and making some difficult passes. This contest was won by Jayson Tatum last year, and he looks to defend his title this year against a competition full of former champions and a star studded lineup.

Following this is the Mountain Dew Three Point Contest. This will be full of stars and deadly three point shooters as they duke it out for the crown of best three point shooter this season. In addition, Devin Booker is replacing Damian Lilliard in both the Three Point Contest as well as the actual game, as Damian Lilliard is recovering from an injury he suffered recently. The final event of Saturday is the AT&T Slam Dunk Contest. This event sure is set up to slam all expectations as four emphatic dunkers look to show some creativity as they fight for the beloved crown of Slam Dunk Champion. These four athletes have been preparing some very entertaining dunks, so be sure to tune in for a fun evening.

Sunday February 16

Sunday marks the 69th NBA All-Star Game, and this sure is set up to be a good one. Team Lebron and Team Giannis line up at 8 p.m. for tipoff as they look to take home a victory for their teams. There’s a new set up for the game, as they give their nod to honor Kobe Bryant through many ways. Team Giannis will rock the number 24 as an honor to Kobe, while Team Lebron will don number 2, a nod to Kobe’s daughter, Gigi, who was also involved in the crash. Another change includes a nod to Kobe as they have rearranged the game to make it more competitive.

The first three quarters will be normal, with the only change being that each quarter teams compete to win the quarter, as the winners donate to a charity of their choice. Each quarter the scores reset to 0, and the game seems to reset. The fourth quarter is different, in the fact that they will add up the scores from the three quarters and then add 24 to the total of the team with more points. The scores then go back to normal and teams fight to reach that final score in an untimed quarter.

In all, this weekend is sure to be full of fun, excitement and competition as players fight to earn victories in the competition as well as the games. Make sure to tune in this weekend to watch all of the action unfold!
