Foolin’ Around in O’Fallon
Are you ever bored, sitting at home and wondering what on earth you could possibly do? Well, then grab some of your friends or family members and head out to have an amazing, fun-filled time close to home in O’Fallon.
The Fort: Disc Golf Course
If you’re looking for just a low key relaxation day or even some friendly competition, play disc golf at the Fort Zumwalt park. Don’t worry about money because this scenic 18 hole course is completely free for everyone, and it is perfect for all ages. There is nothing better than being able to have fun in the outdoors with your friends or family.
Fort Zumwalt Park
Fort Zumwalt Park is an amazing park for hiking, fishing, picnics and so much more! The 48 acre park is nestled around Lake Whetsel in O’Fallon, so if you don’t like hiking or fishing, the scenery is top tier and overall makes it worth the trip. Along with its scenic attractions, this park is also the most historical in the city, with a rebuilt War of 1812 fort site. You can also test out your frisbee throwing skills with disc golf, as I just mentioned above.
18 North Central
18 North Central is an amusement center for teens and adults, giving customers the option of participating in a wide range of activities and games. Tactical laser tag features AR-15 laser rifles that offer realistic sounds and a recoil, just as would be felt on the battlefield. Cybersport Demo Ball is an interactive game which can be played by up to 10 players. The game is similar to lacrosse or hockey while also resembling bumper cars, as participants drive custom-made bumper cars and attempt to achieve goals or block the opposing team from scoring. 18 North Central also has a unique opportunity to try axe-throwing. This fun activity involves throwing an axe at a target to see if you can get closest to the bullseye and beat your friends. The price range for taking a trip to 18 North Central depends on what activity you are wanting to do, but for the most part, it is pretty affordable.
Shopping
When you’re in the need to indulge in one of the most satisfying things to do, which would be spending money, O’Fallon has a variety of places to shop. Target is by far the most popular place people go when they are bored, even if they don’t shop! Target has cute clothes, games, kitchen supplies, food, skincare, makeup and so many other everyday essentials. Plus it even has a Starbucks right in the store, so you can refuel and shop even more. Another O’Fallon fashion staple is Hut 8, which is a cheap thrift store where most of the clothes look or even are brand new. Instead of spending your whole paycheck on Lululemon, Hut 8 has frequent drops of Lululemon for half the price! The best thing about it is that once you run out of money to spend, you can sell your unwanted clothes to the store to earn some pocket money.
Food
One of my and many other people’s worst habits is eating when we’re bored, so luckily there are many options down the street! From Chick-fil-A to McDonalds, fast food could be the way to go if you’re in a rush or just want to enjoy it at home in front of the TV. If you’re feeling like a good sit down meal, Texas Roadhouse, McGurks, Red Robin, Applebee’s and many more restaurants are right in O’Fallon! Go out to lunch with your family or friends and enjoy each other’s company while chowing down on great food.
There’s an endless amount of things to do in O’Fallon if you really think about it. You can enjoy the basics of making a food run or going shopping, but be sure to also try out O’Fallon’s unique activities such as Cybersport Demo Ball!
