Meghan Markle and Prince Harry decide to step down from being senior members of the Royal Family.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are doing the unexpected by stepping back as “senior” members of the Royal Family in order to raise their son in Canada and Britain.

The couple wishes to become more financially independent while in Canada instead of depending on the Royal Family.

“This geographic balance will enable us to raise our son with an appreciation for the royal tradition into which he was born, while also providing our family with the space to focus on the next chapter, including the launch of our new charitable entity,” Markle said on an Instagram post.

The shocking news has covered thousands of headlines. Rumors have floated on the internet such as Harry’s brother, William, being the reason for Markle and Henry wanting to leave. The brothers made a joint statement, crushing the rumor and other ones like it.

Queen Elizabeth II supports the young couple’s decision.

“Although we would have preferred them to remain full-time working members of the Royal Family, we respect and understand their wish to live a more independent life as a family while remaining a valued part of my family,” Queen Elizabeth II said in a statement to Fox News.

All of the details of how the family is going to split their time is still not worked out. A meeting was scheduled on Monday with Prince Harry, Queen Elizabeth II and other royal members in hopes of agreeing on the next steps in the plans. No details were released about the decisions, but any decisions made will take a few days to be implemented.

Even though Markle and Harry are venturing on a different, unique path from other royal couples, the family is supporting their decision and attempting to make the transition as beneficial and smooth as possible for everyone.
