2020 is the start of a new year, a new decade and all new movies! Whether you enjoy animation, action or comedies, 2020 is sure to be a year for blockbusters you can’t miss.

1. First on the list is Disney Pixar’s Onward, an animated film that follows a set of brothers on their magical quest. Be sure to catch this magical film, starring the voices of stars like Tom Holland, Chris Pratt and Octavia Spencer, in theaters on March 6.
2. Another animated film for the young at heart is Minions: The Rise of Gru. This movie is a prequel which follows everyone’s favorite minions on their journey to find a leader. Catch this film in theaters on July 3.
3. Soul, a highly anticipated movie this year, is a Disney film about learning to follow your dreams and pursuing your passions. After a man’s soul is separated from his body, he must work with other souls to find their own passions. Make sure to see this inspiring film on June 19.
4. Everyone’s favorite dog turned detective Scooby-Doo returns to the big screen this summer in Scoob! Join the iconic gang on May 15 and help as they as they uncover their greatest mystery yet!
5. Thirty-four years after the original Top Gun, a sequel is finally hitting the theaters! Top Gun: Maverick picks up 30 years after the original with Maverick embarking on another exciting mission. Fly into theaters on June 26 to check it out.
6. Speaking of sequels, the Bad Boys franchise is also adding a new movie. The third film in the series, Bad Boys For Life follows everyone’s favorite cops as they reunite to embark on one more mission. Be sure to see it on January 17.
7. While Disney is releasing plenty of original movies this year, they are also continuing with their live action remakes. The next remake to come out is Mulan. Whether you’re a fan of the original or an action movie junkie, Mulan is sure to please everyone when it hits theaters on March 27.
8. Another highly anticipated action movie this year is Black Widow. Marvel fans are overjoyed to finally see a stand-alone movie for Black Widow, so be sure to catch this epic film in theaters on May 1.
9. Marvel fans aren’t the only ones getting a new movie this summer, as fans of the Fast and Furious franchise are getting a 9th movie in 2020! Fast and Furious 9 races into theaters on May 22.
10. While the Fast and Furious franchise can boast of many movies, the James Bond franchise tops them all. This summer the 25th James Bond film, No Time to Die, hits theaters on April 8.
11. Animal lovers can find no better way to fuel their love than with Universal’s The Voyage of Dr. Dolittle. Follow Robert Downey Jr. as Dr. Dolittle on his many adventures when the movie roars into theaters on January 17.
12. Dr. Dolittle isn’t the only film for animal lovers coming out this year. Call of the Wild, a heartwarming story about a rookie sled dog and the adventure of a lifetime, will hit theaters on February 21. Be sure to check it out!
13. If you aren’t into dogs, but love superheroes, then Wonder Woman 1984 is the movie for you! Be sure to check out the sequel to the 2017 success Wonder Woman when it flies into theaters on June 4.
14. Theme park lovers should make sure to watch Disney’s Jungle Cruise, a movie based on the popular attraction at both Disney World and Disneyland. Check it out on July 24.
15. If you’re up for a scare, there are also plenty of horror films coming out this year. Be sure to check out Quiet Place: Part II. This horror movie sequel is sure to excite fans just as much as the 2018 original when it hits theaters on March 20.
16. Another horror sequel coming out this year is Halloween Kills. It is the 12th installment in the Halloween series and a sequel to the 2018 movie Halloween. Be sure to catch Michael Myers when he makes his way into theaters in October 16.
17. In addition to all the sequels, a new horror film coming out this year is Fantasy Island. When a group of guests finds their way to a tropical resort, all their dreams come true, or so it seems. Be sure to catch this epic horror film on February 14.
18. Everyone loves the challenge of an escape room, but what happens when that escape room turns deadly? Be sure to see for yourself when Escape Room 2 hits theaters on August 14.
19. Horror films aren’t the only exciting movies coming out in 2020. Sonic the Hedgehog follows the adventures of the iconic video game character, Sonic, and races into theaters on February 14.
20. Along the video game theme, the final exciting 2020 film is Free Guy. This comedy follows a bank teller who discovers he’s actually the background character of a video game. See how this bank teller becomes his own hero on July 3.

2020 is clearly the year for movies! No matter what genre you’re into, there will be plenty of movies for all to enjoy this year. Be sure to head the the theater and check them out!
