NHS 2019 Welcomes You

As fall turns into winter and we all anticipate new beginnings, the National Honors Society adopts 59 new members.

Those chosen for this select group of individuals are exemplary in the four pillars of scholarship, leadership, service and character. The extraordinary NHS members work to create a resume, write essays and more in order to receive the honor of being accepted.

One of the highlights of the 2019 NHS induction ceremony was the gift of an inspirational speech by Mrs. Amy Hood.

The St. Dominic and NHS alumnae, who is now an SDHS parent, returned to the Amy Dickherber stage to speak for the 2019 NHS induction ceremony.

Within her speech, she spoke about how the pillars of the National Honor Society have shaped her life not only through her work and experience, but through the inspiration of others around her.

“My challenge to you, which I know you’re up to, is to find a way every day in your life to live the pillars of scholarship, service, leadership and character, but also inspire others to do the same. But perhaps most of all, appreciate and acknowledge the people around you that are your inspirations to live these values,” Mrs. Hood said.

Congratulations of all of the 2019 National Honor Society inductees! May they have the courage and drive to practice the four pillars of scholarship, service, leadership and character and continue to inspire others they encounter along the way.
