On Saturday, November 2, St. Dominic will host the 32nd annual Night of the Crusader Gala to raise money for scholarships, tuition assistance and our newest future addition: biomedical classes for our STEM program.

For the past two weeks, families involved in the St. Dominic community have been asked to purchase $25 raffle tickets in order to help us reach our goal of $60,000. One lucky winner will take home $7,500. To keep students motivated, administration has included incentives if we reach our weekly goals.

After accomplishing our first week’s goal of $20,000, faculty, staff and students enjoyed a dress down day the following Monday. For week two the stakes were raised: if we reached $40,000 in raffle tickets, we would get another dress down day and donuts for the entire school. Unfortunately, we fell short; however, week three offers an even greater incentive. If the $60,000 goal is met by November 1 at 11:59 p.m., St. Dominic will get the day before Thanksgiving off. Although raffle tickets are one way to donate, the Gala will be jam packed with opportunities for attendees to not only donate, but to also walk away with amazing deals. Some auctioned items include a trip to Disney World, dinner for 50 at El Tio Pepe and even a brand new puppy!

All proceeds will be going towards enhancing St. Dominic. Although donations help refurbish the school, our main goal with the money raised this year is to add biomedical classes. Starting next year, students interested in the medical field will have the opportunity to take classes to help them explore this STEM based major. New equipment, teachers and curriculum will come with this amazing addition.
