As October comes to an end, so do fall sports. Saying goodbye to seniors is always the hardest part of the season, but remembering what they have taught and shown others on what it means to be a family leaves their impact on their program.

The football boys have gone 5-3 and are ready to finish strong in the coming weeks. Having only five seniors could have been a challenge for this season, but every senior on the team stepped up and showed their teammates what St. Dominic football is all about.

This year’s seniors went above and beyond on and off the field, showing their team and coaches what they can do. They left a legacy for not only the seniors to come right after them, but for the ones farther down the road, creating moments with the team that will never be forgotten.

Jackson Dearing #2, Tyler Mersnick #11, Marc Rosner #51, Jameson Witte #55 and Joey Pescarino #13 make up the class, and all have shown incredible leadership and heart on the field.

For Pescarino, playing football at St. Dominic has been nothing short of making amazing memories that will last a lifetime.

“Playing football at St. Dominic has changed my life in so many ways that I didn’t even realize until now. It has helped build my character and helped shape me into the man I am today. All of the coaches have had a huge impact on my life, and I have amazing relationships with everyone involved in the whole program. I don’t know what I would’ve done if I hadn’t played football,” Pescarino said.

Witte’s experience has taught him more than just the sport.

“St. Dominic football has taught me a sense mental toughness and responsibility that will benefit me forever.” Witte said.

The football boys are not the only ones having to say goodbye to their seniors. The cheer girls, who have cheered through the extremely hot and freezing cold games all season, must also send their seniors off. The girls have paved the way for their teammates and have made many memories with their team.

“Being apart of the cheerleading team at St. Dominic these past four years, I have met some of my best friends, and for that I am truly grateful.” Cheer Captain Paige Seydel said.

The senior football players and cheerleaders will be greatly missed, but we wish them luck with the rest of their season and high school career. Thank you for leaving a legacy!
