Golfing for Good
This past Wednesday, St. Dominic hosted its 21st annual golf tournament to benefit the St. Dominic Athletic Association. The funds raised will go towards helping to pay for non-budgeted needs for the SDAA.
The golf tournament was a huge hit this year, so much so that spots sold out very quickly and many golfers actually had to be turned away.
However, next year the SDAA will be more prepared, offering a morning shift as well to accommodate more golfers.
One of the most memorable parts of the night was the putting contest.
“We had Mr. Kampeter and Mr. Zoellner both win a putting contest by sinking a 76′ putt,” St. Dominic president Jim Welby said.
Everyone, including Mr. Welby himself, was impressed by these putting winners.
Thanks to all the support, the SDAA ended up raising around $40,000. This year, the money raised will go towards the new digital scoreboards that were placed on the grass fields. These new scoreboards are much needed and will benefit soccer, lacrosse and field hockey.
Overall, the SDAA golf tournament was a huge success, with many members of the St. Dominic community stepping up and supporting our athletic association this weekend. We would like to thank all those who participated and donated for their contributions to the St. Dominic community!
