Baskets for the Crusaders

The St. Dominic varsity basketball teams have greatly impressed the SDHS community this winter. The boys varsity team overcame some difficult challenges this season without a scratch. The team has exceeded many expectations and has a record of 14-10 this season. Coach Roberts believes this is one of the best defensive teams he has ever had, and the team has worked their tails off to get where they are today. The boys have greatly improved over the course of the season and are primed for districts.

“When we walk on the floor, we know we can win this game. Most people judge wins and losses, but I don’t; I see how we compete and how we are in every single game,” said Roberts.

The girls varsity team has showed St. Dominic exactly who they are. This season, they have a record of 15-8. The team keeps showing opponents and fans what they’re made of. The girls have gone through the season without a hitch and have worked hard leading up to districts.

“We are really prepared [for districts] because we have really tough practices, we watch film on teams and we prepare ourselves for specific players,” said Alex Cook.

Both teams have demonstrated to SDHS how to play some excellent basketball. Come cheer the girls and boys teams on during districts! The boys open against Fort Zumwalt East at 8:30 on Monday at St. Charles West. The girls game begins at 5:30 on Monday against Liberty (Wentzville) at St. Charles West.
