Trippin’ Around the World

During the school year, students fantasize of summers filled with traveling and adventure. For senior Annie McLoughlin, summer break was definitely a dream come true.

Annie took advantage of the free time by traveling around the world in the span of a month. Due to her dad being a pilot, they were able to fly stand-by to every country.

They adventured to Hong Kong, Vietnam, Thailand, Nepal, Doha, Greece and France. Annie enjoyed visiting family, sightsaw beautiful landscapes and structures and hiked in foreign countries.

Even though Annie has been out of the country before, her travels this summer were full of new experiences. She trekked through the Himalayas for two days, ate snails for the first time, visited a park to meet rhinos and toured temples.

“The different cultures in every place was so interesting; it was completely different lifestyles, religions and belief systems. Seeing that was amazing,” Annie said.

Being around different cultures also meant adapting to a new diet.

“My favorite part of the trip was trying new foods. I loved the authentic Asian cuisine, and I even tried snails in France,” Annie said.

This exciting trip was one Annie will never forget, and she is sure to cherish the memories of her thrilling summer as she finishes her last year of high school!
