Dunking the Way Into the Sweet 16
The end of college basketball season is upon us in full force as March Madness is well underway. The first weekend of games is in the books, with plenty of fun to be had.
The NCAA tournament is for college basketball teams all across the nation. Ranked based on their performance and record in their season, matches are made for the first round of the tournament.
Upsets have taken place already just in the first two rounds. Liberty, Oregon, Murray St., UC Irvine were just a few of the teams to possibly bust some brackets. Some of the better ranked seeds have barely scraped by can anyone say UCF, Duke sure can. Or how about two seed Tennessee who have barely won both their first and second round matchups against Colgate and Iowa.
These teams are causing some bracket issues. Brackets are one of the many things that make March Madness so exciting. Fans fill out their picks of who they think will win and faceoff in pools around the country. Brackets and upsets are what make this such a great sporting event. An absolutely perfect bracket has never taken place in NCAA history. This year though, a 40-year-old neuropsychologist named Gregg Nigl’s bracket has remained perfect so far; the longest verifiable perfect bracket in the history of the NCAA tournament.
It’s ok if you didn’t fill out a bracket or if your bracket is already busted. The NCAA is offering a printable second chance bracket that you can fill out before the Sweet 16 starts Thursday evening on CBS. Win or lose this is just a fun way to compete with your friends and enjoy the games at the end of week and this weekend. Good luck and may the upsets forever be in your favor.
