Newsies Rocks the World
This past weekend, our St. Dominic theatre became home to not only our own award-winning theatre department, but the cast and crew of Assumption Youth Ministry’s production as well. Featuring talent from our own students as well as from other high schools and middle schools around the diocese, Assumption’s production of Newsies took the world by storm.
For months, the cast and crew have been hard at work to put on the stellar show. The long hours they have been rehearsing for since September certainly paid off. From impressive choreography to heart-warming vocals to spectacular acting, the show was a feat to remember.
Although Assumption put on the performance, our St. Dominic community was proud to offer our Performing Arts Center for the hectic but successful weekend.
However, Newsies was not only successful as far as audiences, but has made a lasting impression and joyful memory for all those involved.
“Newsies has been such an amazing opportunity and I am so blessed to have been a part of this rehearsal process and show. All of the producers and directors are so fun to work with and I have learned so much from them, not just about performing, but also about what is means to be a leader in faith. Everyone involved in this show was extremely talented and I find it so inspiring how everyone lifted their talents up to glorify Christ,” St. Dominic senior Lori Cook said.
Although the musical has come to a close, those who had the chance to see it will never forget what an amazing display of talent and hard work the Assumption Youth Ministry was proud to present!
