New Year, New Netflix
While St. Dominic students may have been on break, the Netflix team went full force this winter season with new, exciting content on their streaming platform.
From the critically-acclaimed Netflix film Bird Box to Taylor Swift’s sold-out reputation Stadium Tour, Netflix subscribers have no shortage of entertainment during the winter season.
The widely popular film Bird Box, led by actress Sandra Bullock, is a Netflix Original that follows the story of a woman and her two children as they survive during the apocalypse. Unfortunately, the only method of survival is to restrict your vision of the outside world.
Because of this concept, Bird Box has taken the internet by storm. The captivating and thrilling concept of apocalyptic blindness has inspired numerous memes and challenges on Twitter. Fans of the film have taken to blindfolding themselves and finding out whether or not they would be able to survive the Bird Box apocalypse. Needless to say, most people would not survive the challenging lifestyle.
Another Netflix fan-favorite, Black Mirror, released a new interactive film where the viewer makes choices for the main character. The story follows a boy named Stefan who creates a video game called Bandersnatch. The game is similar to the premise of the film where the player must make choices to beat the game. Throughout the film, the viewer must make the right decisions in order for Stefan to achieve a 5/5 rating for the game.
Black Mirror: Bandersnatch is a ground-breaking feat by Netflix by combining the fun of a story-based video game with the intrigue and suspense of a Black Mirror film. The game/movie has multiple captivating storylines and a plethora of easter eggs for diehard Black Mirror fanatics.
In case you missed the flashing lights and confetti, you can now experience the magic of Taylor Swift with Netflix’s Taylor Swift reputation Stadium Tour.
