Hurricane Relief from Home
As the wrath of Hurricane Michael dwindles down, the destruction is spreading even more. To help out those in need, there are a few ways we, as a local community, can come together to raise money for those affected by Hurricane Michael.
Hurricane Michael slammed into Florida’s panhandle on October 10, 2018, causing severe damage and leaving more than a million people without electricity. Communication systems went down after outages occurred in cell phone services. Citizens were given a curfew in order to allow workers time to clear the roads of debris, and civilians quickly reported flash flooding. With all of this damage, how can we help?
If you can afford to donate, the Catholic Charities of St. Louis is offering to give 100% of its donations towards Catholic Church agencies serving in the affected areas.
Schnucks is offering “Round up at the Register,” a way for customers to round up their total to the nearest dollar. Schnucks is donating the extra proceeds towards the American Red Cross for Hurricane Michael relief.
“We are grateful for the generosity of Schucks’ customers,” said the executive director of the St. Louis American Red Cross.
