Hofstetter Tops Off Great Season with State Appearance

Junior Trinity Hofstetter capped off an impressive year with her second consecutive appearance in the Class 2 Girls State Championship. Hofstetter has stayed focused and hard-working all season, and it all paid off this week.

Confidence has never been an issue for the junior, especially after shooting an 85 in districts to advance to state.

“Going into the postseason, I knew if I zoned in on my own game and just let all the work I had put in beforehand play out, a second state was in reach,” said Hofstetter.

Obviously, her play showed she had plenty of reason to be confident, and she credits this to her hard work and concentration on the course.

“My approach to competition has always been to play my own game and focus on one hole at a time. It’s really easy to get caught up in how the other players are performing and lose focus or get frustrated,” said Hofstetter.

Hofstetter’s teammates, coaches, peers and the rest of the St. Dominic community have rallied behind her all year, but perhaps none more than athletic director Kevin Roberts.

“It’s always great to have our kids performing at high levels, and when you have anyone reach state it’s very impressive. What Trinity’s been able to accomplish this year is great; it’s a testament to the athlete she is,” said Roberts.

The entire St. Dominic community is proud of what Trinity has been able to accomplish this year, and we are even more excited to see what she will go on to do in the future.
