Field Hockey: Seniors Say Goodbye
Girls field hockey put up a hard fight against Parkway South, but came short with a final score of 1-0. Win or lose, this game was extremely meaningful to the team as the senior players celebrated their last year on the team on Thursday night.
The varsity team this year consisted of ten seniors. The girls have worked really hard in their last year to improve, and they were recognized for all of their accomplishments.
“The game meant a lot to all of the seniors. It was a lot of fun to work with them and try to win as we wrap up the season. Even though we lost, I think we played well. At the end of the day, it was more about celebrating how far the seniors and the team has come to get to this point and it was a great atmosphere to be in,” said captain Jenika Hazelbaker.
Field hockey was introduced as a sport here at St. Dominic last year, and this was the first year having a varsity team. Eager to have a good reputation, the girls continue to fight for victories over tough competitors. Their last game is October 18 and playoffs will follow.
Don’t forget to come out and support the field hockey girls as they continue on with their season!
