Luke Pescarino
St. Dominic senior Luke Pescarino suffered a devastating injury at the football game nearly two weeks ago against Orchard Farm, which resulted in both a broken tibia and fibula. Though it brought his time on the football field to a close, he has showed that his strength is bigger and better than his setback. Luke is loved by so many, and his commitment to football is just one of the endless ways he shows what it truly means to be a Crusader.

“Luke Pescarino is one of those kids that has the ‘it’ factor. Others are naturally drawn to him as a person. Since he is so faith-filled, he is a great model of what a young person should be. I truly think he tries to give God glory in all that he does, including peer ministry, football, school and his relationships,” said Struttmann.
One thing that can be sometimes difficult to find is a genuine friendship. Now, being a senior in high school, Luke understands what it means to be a true friend. He makes his friendship known to not only his close pals but to the entire St. Dominic community.
“Luke is the type of friend you can always depend on. I can always rely on him to have a good time, or help me in a situation. We can see this friendship in everything he participates in our school’s community,” said senior Ryan Box.
Luke has found brotherhood throughout four years both on and off the turf with his football team. He couldn’t have asked for a better group to walk hand in hand with through their highest and lowest points.
“The first year or two it was just a friendship, but after all of the training, hard practices, wins and losses we’ve been through, it’s become a family that I’m not looking forward to leaving after this year,” said Pescarino.
One of Luke’s biggest supporters is Coach Markway. He is aware of just how much work he puts into everything he does, and he couldn’t have asked for a better player.

Luke had his surgery on Monday, and he is on his way to a speedy recovery. Both fans and teammates will miss seeing him in action out on the field; however, we are so proud of him and his tremendous commitment to the St. Dominic community.
