Summer Bucket List 2018
Summer is just around the corner, Crusaders, so let’s make it the best one yet! Here are some places to go and new things to try to make your summer memorable and buckets of fun.
Farmers Markets: Summer is the prime season for all of the best fresh fruits and vegetables. What better place to go buy them than at your local farmers market? Not only is the produce more likely to be less expensive, but farmers markets also hold the best photo opportunities to make your Instagram very trendy. Most farmers markets are typically open on the weekends in the mornings, and there are quite a few to choose from: St. Charles Farmers Market, The Tower Groves Farmers Market, Wildwood Farmers Market and many more!
Singin’ in the Rain at the Muny:
Make sure to pop out to The Muny in Forest Park this summer to see all the wonderful shows. However, one in particular might appeal to some High School Musical fans, as Corbin Bleu is starring as Don Lockwood in Singin’ in the Rain from June 27 to July 3. The Muny has seating that ranges from free admission all the way to $100 front row seats. You will be surely singing and dancing — although hopefully not in the rain — when these musicals come to the Muny!
Try a New Hairstyle:
Summer is the perfect time to try new things, and a new hairstyle is the perfect way to step out of your comfort zone! Whether it’s changing your whole cut and color or just making a new part, there are plenty of great options to switch things up. For many, committing to a permanent pop of color like blue or pink can be scary, but you can stop in at any Target or Walmart and buy some semi-permanent hair dye to last just a few washes. For a more permanent option, Balayage is the most popular hair color out there. It is a mixture of ombré and highlights, so it’s perfect for that summer glow. Lastly, any type of braid is perfect for the summer time because it keeps your hair out of your face but is much cuter than throwing it up in a ponytail.
County Fairs:
At a county fair, the options are endless! With free concerts, carnival rides, tractor pulls, animal shows and endless options of food, you’ll never run out of things to do. They are available throughout the entire summer for great memories to be made. Two of the most popular are theSt. Charles County Fair from July 24 to July 28 at Rotary Park in Wentzville, and the Lincoln County Fair from July 10 to July 14 at the Troy Fairgrounds. For most, one price of $20 gives you access to everything at the fair, excluding the food.
Outdoor Concerts:
Last, but not least, are outdoor concerts. Concerts are a great way to spend time with your pals while enjoying some great tunes. The most popular summer concerts in St. Louis are the country concerts lineup at The Hollywood Casino Amphitheater. Many purchase the Megaticket which gives you access to lawn seating at all of the concerts. This year’s lineup includes: Jason Aldean – Thursday, May 17 with special guests Luke Combs and Lauren Alaina; Dierks Bentley – Saturday, June 2 with special guests Brothers Osborne and LANCO; Keith Urban – Friday, June 15 with special guest Kelsea Ballerini; Rascal Flatts – Saturday, August 4 with special guest Dan + Shay; and Lady Antebellum & Darius Rucker – Thursday, September 13 with special guest Russell Dickerson. These are just a few of the great concerts lined up this season so make sure to get your tickets!
There are endless options to make your summer memorable, so remember to have fun in the sun the next few months and make the most out of your summer 2018.
